Case Study #1

As the owner and operator of 4 business, Flic wears many hats and then she makes some.

Yes – she is a milliner (Hats by Felicity), designing amazing hats and headwear for rural, regional and remote Australians with her creations being exhibited at 3 New York Fashion Weeks!

Felicity is based in Broome, WA and we met through the HerBusiness network. In line with her target millinery market, her new business, The Homestead Hub is a website dedicated to connecting rural, regional and remote Australians with the people, products, services and resources they are looking for.

Starting this type of business is no small undertaking and CanDo was called upon to provide administration support which included researching Privacy Policies and assisted with insurance-related matters as I’m a former Insurance Broker.

My main task is to review documents and information provided, liaising with suppliers to complete their listing so it can be uploaded to the site. I’ve retyped handwritten forms, created graphics, sourced suitable images, researched hashtags, checked and corrected links to websites, proofread blurbs, kept a master spreadsheet of suppliers whilst the website was being built and triple checked everything on the site before launch. All the while engaging with suppliers to make them feel welcome and supported in their new network.

I’ve also created checklists, spreadsheets and arranged the transport of some very precious cargo from Dubbo to Broome. All in a days work for CanDo.

We have now been working together for 6 months and have managed to navigate the 3 hour time difference like the #bossladies we are. Working remotely has never been an issue. We even had a virtual Launch Party back in December when the website went live.

So when asked what I do, you can see that there are no hard and fast rules for the services I provide. It depends on the client's needs, my skill set and my willingness to take on the tasks. I was referred to by one supplier as an “Admin Fairy Godmother” – a term I love 💜 a lot . I just need to work it into my marketing somehow.
